Ford Zetec Engine

The Ford Zetec engine family was first introduced in the early 90’s as a replacement for the aging CVH and Pinto. With its double overhead cam configuration it was a massive leap in technology and performance, featuring an alloy cylinder head, in conjunction with a cast iron block. First produced as an 1800cc, the 2000cc variant followed very soon after, and continued in various sizes and featured in production vehicles until 2005.

Scholar Engines have been involved with the Zetec in some capacity since its introduction, from a standard rebuild to a fully forged high horse power race engine, in both naturally aspirated and turbo formats. Parts are readily available for either a standard or high spec build.

These engines have gained a popular following in many different areas of the motor industry, from conversions into many of the older Ford classic models, wide use in numerous kit car models, and also the massive popularity in the oval racing world.
